High Rise Mixed-Use
BAS Year 3
I worked on a high-rise mixed-use building project in central Auckland, focusing on resolving functional and programmatic challenges in a dense urban environment. The design integrated structure, services, and technology from the outset, responding to both the immediate streetscape and the broader city skyline. This project allowed me to explore how technical systems and architectural form can work together to shape a dynamic, context-responsive urban development
Reinventing Cities Mixed-Use
BAS Year 3
I worked on a project to design a Low-rise High-density Mixed-use Residential Development in Henderson, with the aim of transforming the town centre into a sustainable, carbon-zero urban eco-centre. Our group developed a proposal that combined residential, commercial, and community spaces to promote walkability, social interaction, and environmental stewardship. The design was guided by the C40 Cities Reinventing Cities brief and incorporated Te Aranga Design Principles, ensuring cultural responsiveness and ecological sensitivity—particularly in relation to the mauri of the Twin Streams and the values of mana whenua. This project allowed me to engage with real-world sustainability goals and contribute to a vision for innovative urban regeneration in Auckland.
Glow Week
BAS Year 2
In this project, I worked as part of a collaborative large-scale fabrication studio, focusing on architecture as material culture. Working with my team, we explored how tectonic systems and detailing could drive design decisions, balancing site, landscape, and programmatic needs. Through hands-on making and iterative prototyping, we developed and refined a low-rise, high-density mixed-use proposal for Henderson, in line with the C40 Reinventing Cities vision. The project emphasized sustainable strategies, cultural responsiveness, and material expression as key components of architectural development.
Critical Studies
BAS Year 3
I remodeled the Jellyfish House by Wiel Arets Architects at a 1:50 scale, focusing on preserving its key design elements like the cantilevered rooftop pool and dual stair circulation. I refined material choices and detailing to suit the model scale, highlighting the interplay of light, transparency, and structure while making the design more tangible and easier to study spatially.
Critical Studies 4
Urban Design
BAS Year 3
This assignment encouraged me to explore fundamental urban design principles and help me understand how architecture and urban design are part of a continuous, interconnected process—not separate disciplines.
